This transfer, our mission President, President Peterson, has been making his way around the mission going out with each companionship for 2 hours each. He has never done anything like this so it's been a lot of fun for everyone. This Wednesday was our day and President joined us for the 1-3PM block. We spent our time having a short companionship Study and then having a lesson with the daughter of a recent convert who seems pretty interested. She has been taught by missionaries before and we had a good first lesson with President in tow and I think she is on good footing to progress.
Thursday we had a Zone Conference with the Hualian Zone. It was weird to have a zone Conference with only one zone. That doesn't usually happen. But it was kind of nice. I hear Hualian Zone becomes a really close knit group and I can see why. As part of that Zone Conference we had one of those tower building competitions where you have to make a tower out of marshmallows and dried pasta in 5 minutes. Our team destroyed! Easily the highest tower.
Saturday morning we got invited by some members to their Native Taiwanese Tribal festival so we spent the morning in a traditional dance (well Elder Berges hurt his foot playing basketball- so I was in a some sort of traditional dance) and eating a ton of food with the members. It's always fun to do stuff that really grows your appreciation for the culture. Tons of fun.
Those are pretty much the highlights this week. It was a fun one.
Wish you all the best,
Elder Neilson
